ILO launches three writing competitions on safe labour migration in East and Horn of Africa

Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda

The ILO, through the UK FCDO-funded Better Regional Migration Management (BRMM) Programme, has opened three competitions on safe, regular and orderly labour migration. Students can enter the essay competition, researchers the call for papers, and journalists and media creators the storytelling competition. Entries close on 25 November 2026. First-place winners will be invited to present their work to ministers and senior officials at the Fifth LMAG in Zanzibar, Tanzania, from 16 to 18 December.
